The Peatlands Way is a waymarked circular footpath spanning 45–50 miles through the stunning landscapes of North Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.
Created in the early 2000s by the Humberhead Levels Green Tourism Forum, this route was developed as a community project to promote sustainable tourism and celebrate the unique local environment.
What Makes It Special?
- Historic Connections: The trail links the charming settlements of Thorne, Crowle, Belton, Epworth, Haxey, Wroot, Kirk Bramwith, and Sykehouse.
- Unique Access: It includes the first permissive paths across the famous Thorne and Hatfield Moors.
- Trail Integration: The route connects directly with the Trans-Pennine Trail at Bramwith and Sykehouse along the New Junction Canal.
