Care about the environment?

Want to support the conservation of a special habitat, keep fit or just add valuable experience to your CV? Want to use your existing skills and learn new ones? Have you considered volunteering? There are many opportunities to get involved and make an impact on the management of the Reserve and how it is presented to visitors. Opportunities to get involved with the work on the Reserve include:

  • Practical habitat and access management
  • Scientific surveying
  • Events and wardening — become a Humberhead Peatlands ambassador
  • Social media
  • Or even help in a busy office.
No minimum time commitment, you choose how much you do, and when.

Volunteering

Volunteering at the Humberhead Peatlands is open to individuals, families, and corporate groups. In fact anybody with the enthusiasm for the environment. If you want to get into the field of conservation and maybe looking for work after finishing College, then time working alongside staff and volunteers can help you realise your goals, with valuable experience to add to your CV. Where practical and affordable, we can give training and we will supply the correct gear to keep you safe, warm and dry. You do not need to have any established skills — just have an interest in the outdoors and be enthusiastic, even keeping an eye on the Reserves as you walk is very helpful. If you think you could find some time to help out, contact the Volunteer Coordinator — 07766 420290. Or drop in at the National Nature Reserve base, Unit 1a, Green Tree Warehousing, Tudworth Road, Hatfield, Doncaster, DN7 6HD. Volunteering opportunities are also available on Crowle Moors for North Lincolnshire Council. Contact David Sanderson 07717 587399.
